Noah's big party was this past Saturday and we had a blast! This might be a long post but I want everyone who wasn't there to enjoy the excitement we had.

The theme for the party was Noah's Ark. We are getting it out of the way the 1st year so that we don't have to do it again unless he wants to. Here are the invitations which a friend helped me to design then I threw them together one week.

The thing that took the most thought were the kids' party favors. It was fun for me though. Thanks to Oriental Trading (whom I love) I found some great things. Here were the baskets.
Each basket had a animal shaped beach ball, bubbles, a water game or stuffed animal (for the little ones) and animal masks.
For decorations I blew up some of the animal shaped beach balls and then got some plastic animals at Wal-mart to put along the tables. I also got lots of pictures printed of Noah through-out his first year. There were several different size photos and I taped them back to back with a string in between then hung them from a tree. It was fun to see his growth through the year. I think that will be a tradition for each birthday from now on.
We ate hot dogs and the big treat was rainbow jell-o. For those who haven't tried it and want to I strongly suggest making it. If you want the recipe let me know. It turned out way better then I thought.

To start the games off we had an animal parade with foot prints leading us to all the games. Each child brought their favorite stuffed animal to join them in the parade and then they also wore their animal masks. It was the cutest thing ever! Of course Noah refused to wear his Zebra masks but he did hold it in his hand.

There were 3 games for the kids. Tiger Darts which was a Velcro ball dart board shaped as a tiger. Pin the nose on the Lion, which was my favorite. And fishing which seemed to be the most popular. I got fun prizes from the dollar store but I don't know if everyone got their prize because it was so chaotic. Super fun though! Some kids didn't care for games though and just wanted to play on the playground because we had it at my neighborhood park. I'm glad that all the kids looked like they were having tons of fun.

We then started cake because it looked like serious rain. Britni made a Noah's Ark cake. LOVED IT!! It was so cool. It was seriously the best thing ever to me because I could never do something like that. Thanks Britni. She also made Noah a 1 year cake for himself as well. Noah dug in at first and then got shot in the eye with a water gun and his mood turned a little sour after that. He was really tired though.
To finish things off right on time we had a Lion pinata. It was a string pulling pinata. So there was no stick hitting involved. You pulled a string till the trap door came open. Awesome for kids that age.

We were going to finish with sno-cones but the rain was moving upon us quickly so we had to pack up for the day. It was such a fun party! I appreciate all the people that made it so amazing. Noah enjoyed himself and says thank you to all his friends that made it. :)
