Christmas in Gilmer

I know it has been a while since I have blogged but once again it has been crazy around here. We left last Saturday for Gilmer and got back tonight and I have tons to blog about. Everyone was able to be there including Heath and Liz all the way from Utah.

Saturday we met my family in Dallas and did my Grandmother's Temple work. It was my Father's mother who passed away 2 1/2 years ago from cancer. We miss her so much but it was such a wonderful experience for us to be involved in.  We we got home that evening I gave Nick his first Christmas present because it was impossible to keep from him till Christmas. He got a new Beagle puppy! He has been wanting one since he was little and never got one so this year was the year! Welcome to our family Copper.

Sunday was cookie decorating at my parent's house and all the relatives came to join in on the fun.

Monday was a great new experience for our family. My parent's bought us first class tickets to the Polar Express Train ride in Palestine Texas. We took an hour train ride and had fabulous hot chocolate. The people danced and read the Polar Express book. When we got to the "North Pole" Santa got on the train with us and gave out bells from the Reindeer on his sleigh. Then he signed every child's Polar Express book if they brought it. It was so fun especially for the kids. Thanks mom and dad for a Magical experience.

Tuesday and Wednesday were more relaxing days spent with the family. Us girls went and got pedicures while the guys golfed and then we all did some shopping both days. It's so much fun having everyone there.

After a late Christmas Eve night we all woke early to a house full of presents from Santa. It was awesome watching the kids come into the living room filled with presents. Last time we were all together the only child there was Brooklyn. This year we had two more to add to that one. Jack wasn't sure what was going on and Noah had no idea. Just a few things though that Noah got was a new wagon which he absolutely loves and a little car to ride on. We also started his Disney Movie collection so he got lots of new movies. Nick of course got a new puppy and then a big wedding picture of me from my parents. We get each other some kind of art each year and this year it was my turn to give. I got a new AWESOME camera and a new even AWESOMER Mac computer. It was a wonderful Christmas for me. Although we can get caught up in the giving and taking of Christmas we didn't forget the true meaning of Christmas.

After the several dinners at Grandparents house and the great company that we had we all slept pretty soundly that night.

Friday was gun shooting and taking back presents day. It was so great to be with family this whole week. To enjoy each other and the time we got to spend together. Everyone contributed to making it a most memorable Holiday. I hope you all had as great of a holiday as we did.
