Noah and I went to Utah last Wednesday and got back last night. We had the best time and got to see lots of people. We also had an eventful time. This is long and you don't have to read it all. The pictures will be at the end.
Wednesday on the way to the airport Nick and I got into a fender-bender. Noah slept right threw it. It scared me really bad because someone almost hit us really hard in the side but luckily just the lady from behind hit us. The plane ride went well. Noah did really good even though it was long because we had a lay-over in Phoenix. Liz picked us up from the airport then we got settled in at their apartment. Later we went and saw Don, Ruth, Janet, Jodi, Liam, and Ainsley. They were all at Nick's grandparents house in Salt Lake, Ruth and Don's. Liz, Noah, and I went and picked Heath up from work then headed to cafe rio! Cafe Rio is my fav and craved it all during my pregnancy. I was so glad to finally get some and I ate the whole salad. The Pork salad is the best!
Thursday Liz had school all day so I was going to head down to American Fork where Jodi (Nick's sister) lives. Heath and Liz live in the apartments above Gateway mall. I left their house at 12 and right when I got on the interstate in a 1993 Grand Marquise I hit the guy that was to the left of me. I felt like a crazy woman driver and that's kind of how the cop treated me. That car has VERY loose steering so I want to blame most of it on the car, but I think I was still jumpy from the accident the day before as well. Needless to say Noah slept through the whole thing. He has those Jones sleeping genes in him. I immediately called Janet and Jodi and they came up to Salt Lake to get me. I was not driving anymore! We had lunch at Apollo burger (YUM) and then went and got cousin pictures taken of the three kids. Janet and Jodi were so good to me that day. Thank you so much for helping me, my nerves were through the roof. After pictures Jodi took me down to Orem and they headed to Park City. I went to Brandon and Stacie's house in Orem for a BBQ and to meet Brody their son. We were so excited to meet Brody and to see all our old friends. I so wish Nick could have went with us. I had a great time catching up with the Voyle's, Anderson's, David and Brad. Brody was adorable and twice the size of Noah even though he is only 4 months older. Liz was nice enough to come pick me up that night.
Friday I was supposed to go to a funeral that morning with Nick's family, but I left Noah's carseat in Heath's car and he took it to work. So far I hadn't been the best mother to my child during this trip. So, Liz and I went shopping which was great to me. Janet met up with us later. It was a really good visiting day. When Heath got home we went and rented movies and got a pizza. We stayed in and watched Leatherheads, which wasn't too great, then What Happens in Vegas. I absolutely loved What Happens in Vegas and recommend it to anyone that likes that kind of movie. It was nice to watch a movies and even better to see two movies. I haven't done that in a LONG time.
Saturday we got up and watched the morning session of Conference. Of course it was great! Then Liz, Heath, and I had tickets to the afternoon session. Janet came and picked up Noah with Liam and Ainsley and he hung out with them during that session. Liam and Ainsley are really good with Noah. It is so cute to watch them take tons of pictures of him and fight over who got to hold him next. Noah loved every second of it and smiled at them tons. He loves kids! We took the tracks to the Conference Center. I love the conference center and Temple Square. It is the most beautiful place ever. It is so peaceful in there. I could sit in there all day and think. After conference and after we got Noah back we went up to Liz's sister, Emily's house in Bountiful so Heath and his brother-in-laws could go watch Priesthood session. Liz's other sister Annie and her husband and son Harrison came up as well. Emily also has a little girl, Claire, and all the kids got to play. Harrison and Claire are one so they didn't find Noah too interesting, but every so often they would notice him. Harrison would go for his eyes, which Jack does too, but Claire was so gentle with him. It's proof that girls are ALWAYS more gentle than boys! We had lots of fun up there till Noah got sleepy and fussy. It was another fun day.
Sunday Heath and Liz had more tickets to Conference so Noah and I watched it at their apartment. My college friend Kim came and visited us that morning too. It was so so good to see her. I never get to see or talk to her. It was great to catch up on life and more importantly just to be together. It brings back so many great memories and those are definitely memories I will cherish forever. After that I spent the afternoon at Nick's grandparents house with a lot of his relatives. His cousins were there with their kids and spouse's and couple of his Aunt's and Uncle's. I haven't seen some of them in a couple of years and others I had never met. I truly love his family. They have been so welcoming to me since Nick and I have been together. They have taken me easily as their family and I couldn't have asked for better in-laws. We also went and met Jeannie, Nick's other aunt. She is so stinking cute and was extremly excited to meet Noah. Later while I packed Heath and Liz watched Noah. Heath has always been so nervous around children that are young like Noah, but he was really good with Noah. He held him a lot and even put him to sleep once. It was the cutest thing ever! He thought it was awesome that Noah would sit and watch TV with him. Liz of course is great with kids and is so good with her sister's kids. She was so good to Noah and helped me out a lot.
Monday Noah and I got up and came home. We didn't want to leave yet. It was such a short trip and we could have done a lot more there. Thanks Heath and Liz for taking us in and driving us everywhere. We had a fabulous trip and can't wait to come back. Janet and Jodi deserve a big thanks too for watching Noah so much and for helping me when I got in my accident. Noah seemed like he had the best time. We did miss Nick a lot though and decided that we won't go again without him.
